What Is Direct Cremation?

What it is, and what it isn’t

Direct cremation, sometimes called simple cremation, is cremation with no viewing and no funeral ceremony. We bring your loved one into our care and carry out the cremation. That's all it is.

Afterward we return the cremated remains to you, either in a temporary container or in an urn you pick.

Plenty of families who choose direct cremation still hold a celebration of life, a memorial service or a private gathering later, in their own time. Choosing this doesn't mean giving up a service.
