Before You Begin
Read this first
You’re welcome to buy a marker from another provider. I want you to know upfront that it costs more to do it that way. Our own markers are made for this park and the price includes everything; an outside marker adds fees for the review, the paperwork and the installation, and those are set out in full below.
Whoever makes the marker, we install it. Outside vendors can’t do installations on the grounds here, so your vendor delivers the marker and our installer sets it.
3rd Party Installation Fees
There are three fees on every outside marker, and one more if there is already a marker on the space. The installation fee covers the foundation and setting the stone. The inspection and design review is half the installation fee, and it pays for someone to check your vendor’s proof against what the park allows before the marker is cut, because a marker that turns up the wrong size can’t be installed and can’t be returned. The $250 administrative fee covers the paperwork and coordinating with your vendor. We don’t discount these, and they are paid in full before any work starts.

Flat marker (under 32″×20″): $900 + $450 + $250 = $1,600 → $1,766.40 after tax
Upright memorial or ledger: $1,600 + $800 + $250 = $2,650 → $2,925.60 after tax
Existing marker removal (if applicable): $205 pull + $235 foundation disposal = $440 → $485.76 after tax
How It Works

We coordinate delivery and installation, and I let you know once the marker is set.

Key Rules & Requirements

The property (plot) the marker will be installed on must be paid in full. For companion markers that span two plots, both plots must be paid in full.

All memorial proofs are subject to approval based on cemetery standards and size guidelines. Proofs may be rejected and require redesign if the size, design, or placement does not conform to park requirements.

The memorial must be ordered by the rightful plot owner. If someone other than the owner is ordering, the owner must sign a Waiver of Rights or co-sign the contract.

We install every marker, using our approved installer. Outside vendors can’t install on cemetery grounds.

Nothing is scheduled for installation until the paperwork is signed, the proof is approved and the fees are paid in full.

The following marker sizes and types are permitted at Washington Memorial Park. Your memorial proof must conform to one of these sizes. All dimensions are in inches (width × depth).Your proof must match one of these. Dimensions are inches, width × depth.
Single, one interment
- 28×16 Single marker
- 32×20 Single marker
- 24×12 Govt. or Govt. match w/ foundation to 28×16 (24×12 standard in Vets sections)
- 28×34 Half ledger, vertical orientation
- 36×72 Full ledger
Single, two interments
- 28×16 Companion marker, or single at head of grave
- 32×20 Companion marker
- 28×34 Half ledger companion, vertical
- 36×72 Full ledger companion
Companion, two graves
- 44×20 Companion

Special Sections
- 15×10 Lake Urn Garden, singles only (except pre-placed Williamsburg companion units)
- 18×10 Infant sections. Garden of Verses is granite only
- 36″ max Upright foundations (Sec. 6, Sec. 23 blocks, Cascade Court only). Consult superintendent for Sec. 23.
