In This Guide

A name,
and a place

In all three gardens the remains are scattered and the cemetery keeps the garden. What you get besides is an engraved memorial with the name on it and a recorded address your family can come back to — the thing scattering somewhere private cannot give you.

SECTION 1

Why Choose a Scattering Garden?

There is a memorial with a name on it, so there is somewhere to visit

A permanent place. The remains are scattered in the garden, and the cemetery maintains it. Your family keeps an address to come back to, which is the thing scattering somewhere private cannot give you.

A name to visit. Your loved one's name is engraved on a plaque or a granite memorial in the garden. It is a real place, and you can go there.

Open to you. The gardens are inside Washington Memorial Park and open during park hours. You do not need to arrange anything to visit.

SECTION 5WHAT EVERY PACKAGE INCLUDES

Understanding Your Package

What every scattering garden package includes

Scattering Space. This is your right to have your loved one's cremated remains scattered in the garden you choose. The space is reserved and recorded, so your family always has an address to return to.

Endowment Care Fund (ECF). A one-time payment into the fund that pays for the upkeep of the garden and the grounds around it. It is charged once and it never comes back.

Recording Fee. This registers the scattering with Washington Memorial Park. It is what creates the permanent record of where your loved one was scattered, and it is why we can tell you years later.

Memorial Plaque / Engraving. This is the marker in the garden with your loved one's name on it. Which one you get depends on the garden: a granite memorial plaque, a bronze plaque, or an engraving cut into the granite onsite. Tax (10.4%) applies to this item.

Sales tax (10.4%) applies to memorial plaque/engraving only. All other fees are tax-exempt. Prices subject to change without notice. All fees listed are per interment.

Every package covers the space, the endowment care fund, the scattering service, the recording of it, and the memorial with the name on it. Sales tax (10.4%) applies to the plaque or the engraving only; everything else is tax-exempt. All fees are per interment.

I will price the one you want

The three packages are close in total and differ mainly in the memorial. Tell me which garden and I will put the exact figures in writing for you, with no obligation attached.
